Cathie Krakower Collins is the Group Leader for the Senior Girls and a member of Camp Monroe for the past 32 years. She worked in the lithography/printing field before becoming a stay at home mother. After her younger child entered pre-school, she began working in the office at camp, where she did a variety of tasks to prepare camp for the upcoming season (i.e. setting up tournaments, programming, acting as liaison for parents, handling camper placements, mailings, etc.). Cathie has a BS in Physical Education from Queens College. Why is Camp Monroe such a sepcial place? “Camp Monroe has always been my ‘Home Away From Home.’ I am today, who I am because of my years growing up here. As the senior girls group leader, the love I feel and the happiness that I see each day from my campers and staff, is what makes every moment at camp a memory that is in my heart throughout the year. I am so fortunate that my children and I are part of this experience. Borrowing this line from one of the owners ‘…Camp is what I do best.’”
