What does it mean “Only At … Camp Monroe “?
There is a special and unique feeling a person gets (camper and staff, old and young, boy and girl) when they spend a summer at Camp Monroe. Everyone feels totally at ease and happy with a strong sense of belonging to a “special family”. Equally uplifting is the individual achievement and accomplishment that our campers and staff experience. The many fun activites, special event days, the beautiful surroundings, and most importantly the LIFE LONG friendships that are made at camp and continue beyond camp - These are just a taste of the things that set Camp Monroe aprt.
Do I have to do all the activities?
We have over 50 activities at Camp Monroe. We encourage all campers to at least try all the activities. If there is something you do not want to do we never force you. There are times during the week when you can select you own activity.
What kinds of trips will we take?
Trips are a special part of our program; Groups are scheduled for those trips which are suitable for their age and interest. Some trips we have taken in the past: bowling, movies, professional baseball games, ice skating, IMAX theatres, amusement parks like Hershey Park and Six Flags, and Water Parks. Plus each summer our senior campers (7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th graders) go on a wonderful three day trip to a different part of the East Coast such as Washington DC, Boston, Pennsylvania or even Niagra Falls.
Where do Camp Monroe campers come from?
Our campers come from all over the United States, from the Northeast; New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. We also have campers from Maryland, Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Utah, Texas, Missouri, and California and the list of states keeps growing. Campers also come from other countries like England, France and Israel.
What about the counselors and other staff?
Counselors live in the bunks and go to activities with you. Their job is to make sure that you are feeling great and enjoying your camp experience. All the staff at camp will be like big brothers and sisters to you and will be there to support you in any way they can. We also have special instructors through out camp. Their job is to help you improve your skills in our activities. The sport instructors also coach our tournament teams.
What is the food like at camp?
Camp Monroe meals are quite yummy and also very nutritious (which is appealing to your parents). We have you in mind when we plan our summer menu. That means you can expect all your favorites. We also offer a salad bar at lunch and dinner and of course everyday we offer other options for the picky eaters.
Is camp as much fun as you say it is?
