Our Goals at Camp Monroe
To create a daily camp life built on love and concern for each member of our summer community.
To teach, by discussion and example, qualities such as: honesty, trust, sharing, loyalty, fair play, good sportsmanship, cleanliness, and respect for oneself and others.
To provide through an extensive variety of athletic, social, and artistic activities, a vigorous, stimulating summer of fun and personal growth.
Instruction in basic and advanced skills and the recognition of both individual and group achievement are key elements of our program.
To awaken, through our outdoors program, an awareness and appreciation of nature’s workings.
To provide, in the structure of bunk organization, an intimate, supportive, home-like base for each member of our community.
To provide abundant, top quality, strictly Kosher nutritious meals served family style.
To provide a safe and healthy environment under the direction of aware competent adults.
To provide a spiritual feeling by having a traditional Friday evening program as well as offering Sabbath morning services for those who wish to attend.
To be particularly aware of the feelings of new members of camp. And to help them to feel welcome and comfortable as quickly as possible.
To continue to offer those campers and staff who return to Camp Monroe year after year, even generation after generation, a place where life-long personal relationships may be joyfully renewed and continued.
And to use this growing core of people as the generative energy for reaching all of the above goals and objectives.
